Kayaks

&

Fishing

Due to the great number of our Guest Requests, Kayaks are now available for your River Trips. Life jackets & paddles provided. If you have your own life jacket feel free to bring it.

Let's go Fishing!

Acorn Lodge is a nature preserve. Because of this we can't have hunting or fishing on our property. However, there are a great number of lakes and fishing sites all within 15 minutes of the lodge. You'll find a map of the boat launch sites further down this page. Obviously you can bring your own boat, canoe, or kayak, but if you need a kayak they are available at the lodge and our personnel can take them to the launch site and pick them up later. Kayak rental rates are also on this page.

Our guests asked for it so now you've got it:

Kayaks available at the lodge.

Beautiful scenery between Millville landing and Acorn Lodge.

This map shows the proximity of Acorn Lodge and Millville landing, a popular launch site. The Flint River eventually flows into the Holloway Reservoir on the left.

The Millville landing is right next to Moore's Market (right, bottom of map), and is a 5 minute drive from Acorn Lodge. From there you can float down the river and land right at the foot of the Acorn Lodge trail. The trip is about one hour & 45 minute float. Lodge personnel will deliver the kayaks to Millville landing and pick them up at our riverfront when you return.

The changing seasons bring spectacular sights.

If you're lucky you might see a deer crossing the river.

At the end of the trip you'll come to the Riverside Cabin.

A short paddle takes you to the River Rest landing.

It's where the flag is.

Unpack your goodies here or take a short walk back to the cabin.
